Our Foundation and Network
The original
The Business Place Network (TBP) was first established in 1999 in South Africa. It operates as a Non-Profit Organization (NPO) with a network of eHub centers across Southern Africa. The flagship center in Johannesburg was established with an initial seed investment of R30 million and serves as a hub for high-quality services for small and medium-sized businesses. The involvement of
Investec Bank in establishing The Business Place reflects a commitment to fostering a vibrant entrepreneurial society. The network continues to expand its footprint, owning the TBP concept and brand while launching similar ventures in collaboration with local partners.
How We Work
The Business Place operates on a cluster concept, bringing together a diverse array of local stakeholders, including representatives from all tiers of government, community organizations, and corporate entities. This collaborative approach is driven by a shared vision of building an entrepreneurial society that promotes economic growth and equality.
The core of our model is a network of
service providers, networking organizations, and community-based organizations tenanted under one roof. This structure ensures that entrepreneurs have access to top-notch, relevant resources and support systems crucial for their success.
